Boston - part 3

This is one of my highlights of our trip to Boston. We drove down to the coast in Rhode Island and went to one of the most beautiful beaches. No one was there (it was October), so we had the place to ourselves. We played on the sand next to these enormous estates/mansions/bigger than you ever need houses. These homes literally sat on several acres each of beachfront property, with rolling lawns and all.
We all had so much fun writing names in the sand, running from the waves, and pretty much just being amazed at where we were.

These four just crack me up. They all have such a neat friendship. Even now (months later) when Kate and Zoie facetime, out of the blue they let each other know that they miss the other. It's really sweet. Paige even still asks weekly, "Where's Zoie? Where's Bonnie?" We sure love our friends!!!!

Poor Jed. He was stuck with 6 girls for several days (Haydn had to work), but he was a trooper.

Boston - part 2

Day 2 of Boston. Seriously the best fall weather we could have (70 degrees!) so we headed to Salem for the day. I never thought I'd actually go to Salem and we had a blast. We dressed the girls in their Halloween skirts and they were loved by all :) Salem is really a neat place with some crazy history.
My bestie (although we are blurry. I guess I need to teach Jed "manual mode"). Boy have I missed her since she moved, but it was so fun to spend so much time together!!!!
These crazy girls had way too much fun together. We visited a cemetery in Salem. Amazing to see such old dates on the headstones.

This was taken just outside a delicious restaurant we ate at for lunch. We ate some "chowda" outside on the patio overlooking the marina in the beautiful sunshine in the middle of October! Such a fun day!

Thanksgiving at the Dunes

I'm a bit out of order, but wanted to post our fun Thanksgiving weekend. After eating a great meal on Thursday, we headed to Little Sahara on Friday and Saturday. The days were beautiful and mid-50's. The nights were a bit cold but we did get in some awesome night riding with the help of some new lights on the side-by-side's.
These girls are too much fun when they place so nicely together. Of course Kate is in charge and Paige is just her little shadow, but they do get along great.

Boston - part 1

The long-anticiapted trip to Boston! We actually made a countdown paper chain and Kate didn't miss a day on tearing one off. We were all very excited to go to Boston to see our best friends.
The first day we decided to go explore downtown Boston. It's an amazing city! Our first stop was the aquarium.
How we miss these little girls already!
We actually got to pet stingrays. All the girls were so nervous but they each touched one.

Tiny, tiny seahorses. It was amazing that something so detailed could be so small.
After the aquarium, we decided to take a short walk up to a park. It turned out to be quite a bit further than we thought, and with only one stroller for four kids, we ended up packing them most of the way! They sure had fun running along the paths in the park and through the leaves.

Halloween 2013

Last year Kate was Astrid for Halloween, and this year she insisted on being Astrid's dragon, Stormfly. This kid is going to kill me with her creativity. She insisted that her costume must look like Stormfly, with yellow spikes and a red horn. And could I make the spikes come off when she whipped her tail, just like Stormfly?
We went a bit easier with Paige, an octopus, which is very fitting for her (she's into everything!)

Welcome... Jensen Riggs Maughan

I got a chance to shot some newborn pics of my new nephew, Jensen, only a few days old.

Black Island Farms

I'm a bit behind, but here's some of our fun from this fall. We started out the month of October by visiting Black Island Farms. Kate and Paige love the slides there as well as the train. We had fun finding the "perfect pumpkin"!
