My girls in the Jeep. Paige did much better than expected and they both loved their new carseats. Kate was so excited to go "camping", she kept asking to go back to the trailer and thought we were leaving camping when we went on a trail. She loves playing in and out of the trailer. The weather was perfect, not too hot or cold.
Marshall and Rondi got Jed "SCRAMBLER" stickers for Christmas. Jed put them on just before Moab. They look great.
We did our usual Fins n' Things as a test run for the girls and a bit of Hell's Revenge. We also had to test out the new suspension and lockers. Boy do we love the lockers!
Our first registered trail on Super Saturday was Gold Bar Rim. Fun trail. Lots of little climbs and small challenges, but not so hard or too many that we were waiting around all day for everyone. Best obstacle was "The Wall". I didn't get any pictures of it, but it's pretty much a wall, and you're pretty much vertical.
No body damage this year, although Jed did pull a "Dave". Our radiator started leaking Saturday near the end of the trail. Back at camp he tried some Alumi-Seal but it wouldn't hold. He found a radiator that evening, but it wouldn't fit and all the parts stores were closed for the night. He pulled the radiator and first thing the next morning headed back into town. The parts store had the number of a guy to weld it, and what do you know, the guy answered his phone, met Jed 15 minutes later and fixed the radiator for $25. Lucky us. He still had to put it together, but we still made the 9:00am trail - Strike Ravine (with the help of Marshall of course). We did the trail backwards and with only 12 Jeeps. It was great! A bit bumpy but fun.
That silly bunny even left some real eggs on the trail! Kate was pretty excited to find them.
Overall a pretty good trip, although as usual we missed my dad. I was surprised that it wasn't depressing like I had anticipated. Of course there were some sad moments (watching my mom drive the 6 down to Moab, not having him there when we broke, Kate asking about him), but we still had some fun. Jed and I especially had fun with Kate and Paige, they sure make us laugh, both of them screaming for fun for no apparent reason.
